Job summary
South Tyneside Older Adults Community Treatment Team are looking for a full time Clinical Support assistant.
This role will involve supporting a caseload of older adults within the community mainly in their own homes, who have various mental health problems including a diagnosis of dementia, psychosis, depression and anxiety.
The role involves supporting the clinical members of the team to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team, as well as maintain the health and well being of this patient group.
You will work closely alongside other clinicians.
Working with a highly complex population, the team feel that this role would be ideal for someone with the following qualities and aspirations:

- Are you keen to be able to complete physical health checks including phlebotomy , ECG and health education.
- Do you want to partake and facilitate psychosocial interventions individually and as part of a group.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, including cognitive impairment, under the direction of a registered practitioner. The overall responsibility for the service user remains, at all times with the registered practitioner.
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
To complete Physical health checks including phlebotomy and ECG, in line with NICE guidelines.
To support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.
