We have an exciting opportunity for an appropriately experienced, caring and compassionate clinician to join our team as Community Practitioner within our Learning Disability pathway.
Main duties of the job
Our learning disability pathway offers assessment of mental health needs and intervention to children, young people with a learning disability.
Main duties of the role include offering positive behaviour support (PBS) interventions and techniques alongside our LD Consultant Psychiatrist, risk assessment and formulation, contribution to safeguarding processes. The community practitioner will act as Care coordinator/Lead professional for a caseload of young people.
Other duties will include supporting the team's duty system and supporting peers and colleagues with case discussion and peer support.
Full supervision and support is available from the Consultant clinical psychologist, clinical lead, team manager and wider colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential
- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Mentor Training.
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post.
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection.
- Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
Desirable
- Post graduate qualification in relevant psychological intervention
Knowledge and Experience

- 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
- Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives.
