Job summary
The single point of access (SPA) is a multiagency triage service that is responsible for referrals to a number of getting help and the getting more help services within Newcastle and Gateshead.
The team is based in Bensham Hospital and are often but not exclusively triaging telephone calls or paper referrals that are sent to the service. The team will often support with safeguarding matters and gather more information to support the most appropriate onward referral.
There may be requirements to work in other areas of the trust pending service need.
Main duties of the job
Telephone triage, signposting onward referrals to other organisations both primary and secondary. Assessing needs of the young people referred to the service. Additional information gathering to help inform referral decision. Liaising with local authority, health and social care and education. Requires collaboration with Newcastle and Gateshead Children and young peoples pathways.
