Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Children and Young Persons Worker to work within our North Tyneside Recovery Partnership (NTRP).

Ideally the candidate would have previous experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.

The role entails working with those affected by substance and alcohol misuse providing safe and effective interventions, harm reduction advice, and use of psycho social interventions to support service users to consider and achieve their goal.

As NTRP works as a partnership you will be expected to work closely alongside Waythrough, and their management team, in order to provide support to their Children and Young Person's Team.

The team consists of a well-established mix of professionals that work collaboratively to deliver individualised care. The role involves individualised clinical assessment, care planning, formulation and collaborative working across the multi-agency team.

The applicant will be expected to demonstrate leadership within the team, providing supervision and supporting students and/or peers.

Main duties of the job

To deliver high quality, holistic care, assessment and therapeutic interventions to young people accessing the service.

To work in collaboration with the Service User and Carer where appropriate. To provide frequent 1-1 sessions, ensuring risk, vulnerabilities and safeguarding concerns are addressed. To ensure regular reviews of documentation

To manage complex risks competently and in accordance with Trust and Statutory guidance.

To support and advise practitioners within the Pathway.

You will be responsible for identifying health inequalities, give advice as to reasonable adjustments that can be made in order to ensure services are accessible

The post holder will work as a member of the MDT

To provide specialist clinical advice to Service Users/Carers, staff, statutory agencies, 3rd sector partner agencies and the public.

To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To practice autonomously within the Pathway and in accordance with local and trust Policy, Protocols, Standards and Guidelines.

Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical services leading on defined projects as agreed with the Clinical Manager and in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and Pathway Manager.

You will be expected to represent the service in a number of forums including safeguarding meetings.

Essential

  • First Level Nursing Qualification and Registration
  • Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence based psychological therapies relevant to Pathway.
  • Mentor/Assessor Qualification
  • Appropriate training i.e. Safeguarding, MAPPA, Child Protection and up to date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a community team
  • Non medical prescribing

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people. Experience of working with those who have complexities
  • Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services
  • Experience of MDT and multi agency Working
  • Experience of autonomous casework management
