"The Clinical lead Lived experience post will be a central component of Hope Haven's approach, embedding lived experience as a key element of support and ensuring the voice of lived experience is prominent within clinical decision making, development and ensuring services are delivered with a trauma informed, recovery focus. This ethos supports a radical reimagining of mental health support founded in true person centred care, supporting co-production, family involvement and enabling the community to be the vehicle to support mental wellbeing for all, rather than the sometimes' confining nature of biomedical approaches. Understanding the person's holistic needs from their perspective and co-producing support plans led by the person, informed by their family and supported by partnership working around the person's needs, will offer a new and hopeful approach based on choice, ownership, people and self."

About us
A new community service will offer round-the-clock mental health support in the heart of Whitehaven when it opens later this year called the Hope Haven. The Haven is being funded by NHS England as part of a drive to provide more mental health support in local communities. It will be provided by a group of local organisations working in partnership: Cumbria Health; Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW); Everyturn Mental Health; Home Group; iCan Wellbeing Group CIO; The Well Communities CIC; and the Whitehaven Community Trust.
Our aim is to transform the way mental health care is provided in Copeland. This will bring together specialist health, social care and community services for the first time, so people can get the right help, at the right time as one team, under one roof. We will be open 24/7 and people will be able to simply walk in.. People who are struggling with their mental health will be able to get specialist, intensive support from NHS services and other local organisations all based in the Haven. It will also work closely with existing community support, such as the Whitehaven Family Hub. The Haven will also offer advice on issues which often affect people's mental health, like housing, money and employment. And there will be support for the families and carers of people who are unwell as well as support for people who are at a point of crisis.
