Job summary
The principal role of the post holder will be to support families and carers by developing mutual relationships based on their own lived experience by working as part of CNTW's Lived Experience Service (previously Patient & Carer Involvement Service)
A key feature of the post will be the person's unique lived experience of caring for a young person using secondary mental health services for a mental health condition(s), neurodiversity or learning disabilities and how the wisdom that comes with this can support others on their personal journey.
Main duties of the job
Most of the post holder's time will be devoted to having direct contact with families and carers, mainly on a one-to-one basis but at times in group settings.
You will support families and carers to navigate the health care system whilst their young person is accessing services, and help identify aspects of life that give meaning, hope, value, and purpose whilst recognising that everyone's wellbeing is distinctive and deeply personal, conversations may include reference to your own journey.

- Educated to NVQ4 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
- Completion/Commitment to attend PSEP (Peer Support Educational Programme)

- Completion of Peer Support Specialist Training or other similar peer support training Completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training
