We have an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Nurse to join our established Nursery Nurses and the wider inpatient team. We work as a multidisciplinary team to support mothers experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties during their admission with their baby. We would welcome your application.
Main duties of the job
To provide a caring and supportive environment to ensure the optimum health and social wellbeing of each mother and baby and facilitate a nurturing and loving bond between them.
Work in collaboration with parents and multi-professionals to develop individualised programmes of care.
Support mothers who experience mental health problems associated with childbirth. The age of the baby who accompanies the mother must be under the age of 12 months of age.
Works within this specialised area of Mother and baby care and is cognisant with the unit's aims.
Participates in the sharing of knowledge to ensure the educational needs of other professionals are met.
Demonstrate they have the ability to work under direct/indirect supervision when carrying out individualised care packages.
Maintains accurate care records for babies.
Develop, implement and evaluate individualised plans of care for babies, which reflect their mothers care package.
Raises concerns with regard to babies' development/physical health with the nurse in charge and the Liaison Health Visitor.
Ensure each baby's needs remain of paramount importance.
