We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic administration team lead to join the Sycamore Medium Secure Unit Reception team here at Northgate Park. As team lead you will be responsible for facilitating the smooth and efficient day to day functioning of the Reception Control Room Operators team within a Medium Secure Unit.

The post holder will work as part of the Secure Care CBU. They will assist the Security Lead to manage the team in all aspects of the safety and security of the site, including:

The role will be a varied, with no two days the same and we require someone who is able to use own their initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines and have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
- Reception and relational/environmental security duties supporting staff, patients and visitors
- Issuing and maintaining security equipment i.e. Key cards, SAS alarms, and using a variety of systems that are part of the security processes at the hospital. This is in line with Local Operational Procedures (LOP) which inform staff of their role relating to relational and environmental security
- Monitoring entry and exit to the building i.e visitors, service users, carers, items being brought into the unit, working closely with a variety of other staff
- Checking equipment is operating as required i.e., radios, alarms etc.
- Coordinating the testing of radio frequency & function for the Site Response
- Completing security checklists with estates, facilities staff and external contractors i.e. equipment or tool count
- Escorting and chaperoning visitors & contractors
- Supporting with "lock down" in line with Trust Policy and Local Operational Procedures. This may include monitoring flow through the building, managing access and egress of the response team, first responders or the emergency services
- The successful candidate will have day to day supervisory responsibility for the Control Room Operators within the service, dealing with all staffing issues including recruitment, appraisal, training, performance and quality management, supervision and support. Strong leadership skills are an essential requirement of the role
