Job summary
This post will enable the specialty doctor to get a range of experiences across various psychiatric specialties. The post holder will be expected to rotate in services which will be agreed in consultation with management. The range of experiences which will be available include children and young people's services, addictions services, inpatient general adult and community services, inpatient and community services for older people and services within specialist care such as eating disorders and autism.
The first rotation post is within the Community Treatment Team. The CMHT is positioned in Secondary Care and has a pivotal role in directly delivering specialist community mental health services, but also an interface with Primary care, Specialist Services such as the crisis team, Psychiatric Liaison Team, inpatient team and many other specialist services.
The postholder will find themselves well supported, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and collaborative working. Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest healthcare Trusts in the country.

Main duties of the job
This is a full-time substantive Specialty Doctor post, where you will provide medical input into a Community Treatment Team working with other consultants and 2 SAS doctors covering the adult population in the East and West of Cumbria. The post-holder is expected to:

The Adult Community Mental Health Team provides an assessment and treatment service for people who are experiencing difficulty with their mental health based on episodic model of care. The CMHT works closely with the local Crisis Team, Liaison service and Inpatient services to ensure safe and timely transitions when required.
