Job summary

The Richardson Eating Disorder service (REDS) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic psychology graduate, with interest and experience in working into clinical settings with people experiencing psychological distress, either in a paid or voluntary capacity, to help support psychological input into our adult eating disorder ward and intensive day service.

This post will also provide the opportunity to work within community settings as part of our Intensive Day Service at home treatment pathway. The IDS@ home treatment pathway aims to support people who struggle with eating difficulties where travel to a centralised day service is proving difficult or whose clinical need requires a more bespoke package of care.

The Richardson Eating Disorder (REDS) is a regional specialist eating disorder service for adults experiencing eating disorders. The area covered by the post will be the wide geographical area covered by CNTW andmay include a combination of online and face to face appointments. REDS has a well-established track record of delivering care and treatment in inpatient and day-patient settings and have recently expanded to deliver care and treatment to adults in the community who are experiencing eating distress.

There will be opportunities for the post holder to work as part of an MDT offering individual and group therapies alongside holistic assessments to help people make sense of their difficulties and inform team formulation approaches.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary context to help the psychology team undertake specialised psychological assessments, group and individual therapeutic interventions, alongside other types of clinical intervention appropriate to this level of training with both staff groups and families. They will have weekly supervision from an experienced member of the psychology team.

In terms of service development opportunities, the successful applicant will help co-ordinate psychometric outcome measures and compile an annual report to inform service plans going forward. They will support the service in the delivery of training and service development initiatives.
