We are currently in the process of expanding and developing our existing mental health services for children and young people (CYP), which includes this exciting development working within South Tyneside primary care services as part of the Lifespan Model.
We are seeking applicants with outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience of working with young people and their families. The applicant will be a non-medical prescriber (or working towards this), they will work directly into the GP surgeries and complete the ADHD medication reviews as per nice guidelines. We also have Learning Disability and Mental Health nurses to be a support for families and young people with time limited interventions at key times in a young person's life. Applicants must have strong communication and organisational skills and will be required to work collaboratively with partners, demonstrating the effectiveness of this service through the consistent use of appropriate outcome measures.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners (PCMHP) for CYP's as part of the Lifespan Model being developed within South Tyneside. This role will provide the post holder the opportunity to apply and use their skills within primary care making sure that children, young people and their families and carers receive appropriate and timely assessment, while working with partner agencies to embed the community mental health transformation model.
This is a very exciting, diverse, and autonomous role, as such it will be vital to have positive working relationships with the primary and secondary care team, as well as third sector organisations.
We are looking for a B7 Mental Health Practitioner/Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) (or working towards this) for the ADHD element of the lifespan model, they will work directly into the GP surgeries and complete the ADHD medication reviews as per nice guidelines. We also have Learning Disability and Mental Health nurses to support families and young people with time limited interventions at key times in a young person's life. They will have extensive experience of working with children and young people within a mental health setting and who can work autonomously within GP practices and is also an effective team member.

Essential
- Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
- Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post
- Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
- Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation.
- Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence based psychological therapies relevant to Pathway.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a community team.
