Job summary
As part of the Medical Assistant expansion, a number of new posts have been developed in the following services:
North Cumbria Community Treatment Team
Children and Young Person Service
Early Intervention in Psychosis Team
Adult Community Treatment Team
Old Age Inpatient Unit
Acute Inpatient Unit CaPE Clinic
We are looking for applicants for these posts, which would provide training integral to the post. Working alongside the medical team, the post holder will support them in their management of the patient pathway, ensuring all necessary information and resources are available in a timely manner, and that administrative information flows without repetition or delay.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- capture and manage patient information live - during consultations - on the relevant IT systems
- prepare clinical documentation including Mental Health Act documentation under the supervision of the responsible clinician in line with Trust policy
- work directly with service users using rating scales assessing treatments and other inventions
- work with service users with a focus on enabling recovery.
- provide data and information to improve, inform and support delivery of care
The post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and should be able to work well within a team.
The post holder will be educated to a degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience working at a similar level in specialist area and have an understanding of the Mental Health Act.
The post holders are required to have word processing skills at Level 3 (or equivalent), and a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and patient information systems (RiO). An audio typing qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience and note taking skills are desirable.
