Job summary

An opportunity within CNTW NHS Trust has become available for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work into the Older Adult's Community Mental Health Service in Newcastle.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working within mental health services. Previous experience working with older adults is desirable and knowledge of the impact of mental health on physical performance and an interest to work within this clinical area is required.

You will work across a range of services which consists of Older Person's Community Treatment Teams, Younger Person's Dementia Team and Castleside Day Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You will be a highly skilled and knowledgeable team player who is able to think holistically and creatively in order to deliver specialist assessment and management and physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health and /or neurological conditions, alongside our multi-disciplinary team. You will work alongside the clinical leads and other colleagues within the wider team, you will undertake the service development and implementation of evidence based core pathways across inpatient services. Using research, innovation, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • State registration with HCPC.
  • Further relevant post qualifying training.

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • experience of working within a MDT
  • knowledge of evidence based practice and implementation within physiotherapy services
  • Have substantive post qualifying experience
  • To be able to demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning skills in the development of specialist treatment programmes

Desirable

  • Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Knowledge and experience of involving service users/ carers in evaluation/ planning and monitoring of services
  • Leadership training
