This role is currently work from home with one day per month in the Gosforth office. They may increase in the future and your work base will be Gosforth.
You may be required to attend meetings on-site at one of our locations in the North East and North Cumbria where a Teams meeting is not possible.

You will be:
Managing and leading the Data Warehouse team in providing a robust Data Warehouse solution (using Kimball/Inmon data warehousing methodology) to support decision making, data management and business intelligence. Ongoing development and enhancement of the data warehouse including database maintenance.
Ensuring nationally mandated datasets are submitted on time and meet nationally defined criteria to support commissioning requirements.
Contributing to the Trusts strategic ambition to migrate the data warehouse (and all of the supporting processes) to Microsoft Azure cloud.
Main duties of the job
o Leading the development and maintenance of the trust data warehouse and database systems.o Leading the technical architecture supporting the production and maintenance of a high-performance data warehouse that evolves to provide consistent capability for reporting from all key trust systems.o Implementing data loading (ETL/ELT) and data access capability from a range of sources using tools such as SSIS, ADF, Logic Apps, SSRS, PowerBI ,T-SQL, etc...o Contributing to and implementing the Trusts Business Intelligence strategy working with key stakeholders.o Lead and develop timely trust wide access to the required information to support dataset returns, operational and performance reporting.o Contributing to and implementing a strategic roadmap to provide high availability for core information and transition to a cloud first approach.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Any relevant qualifications in Data warehouse / MS SQL.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Knowledge of managing large relational database schemas and models.
- Knowledge of NHS Information, datasets and submission processes
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes
- Knowledge of Statistics/information analysis and the use of information across the NHS.
- At least 3 years' experience of designing and developing specialised custom-built reporting systems using MS SQL Reporting Services (Report Builder) and Power BI that deliver effective solutions to meet Trust business needs
- At least 2 years experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud resources
- At least 4 years' experience of working in a lead Information role within an NHS Organisation.
- Experience of managing or supervising staff.
