Applications are invited friendly, caring and compassionate individuals to work within the Regional Environmental Control Service, based at Chad House in Hexham. The role is part time 22.5 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Regional Environmental Control Service provides assistance to people with physical disabilities to operate a wide range of equipment and/or appliances within their desired environment. The service is for people of all ages who have a limiting physical disability. Equipment can be controlled using various methods i.e.
- Switches - these can be operated using any controllable body movement
- Voice recognition
- Direct access - special keypads
Equipment provision can help to alleviate or compensate for an injury or impairment, and can help to maintain or increase independence.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be:
- Accurately updating patient details within RiO (the Trust's patient information system)
- Formatting documents
- Scanning and uploading
- Dealing with correspondence
- Assisting with ad hoc requests
- Experience of Microsoft Office and working within an administrative environment are essential to the post.
The post holder will also undertake additional duties such as ordering supplies, requesting repairs, and covering different departments during annual leave/sickness absence. This list is not exhaustive.
The successful candidate will work well within a team and will be looking to develop their administrative and communication skills in a busy office environment, supporting the team and admin within the service.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills, as well as a working knowledge of office procedures including IT skills.
You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification. If you do not meet this criteria you may not be shortlisted.
