Job summary
We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic, and innovative Team Manager to oversee the operational management of our busy Neurodevelopmental Team which sits within the wider Children and Young People's Service covering Newcastle and Gateshead.
The post-holder will report to the Clinical Manager and will work collaboratively alongside senior clinicians within the team to support day-to-day functioning. The successful applicant will facilitate and help to mobilise the team's problem solving skills and contributions to service development. There will be a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and the team is keen to pursue developments to service evaluation processes and service-user involvement. The team views high quality supervision and training as key to maintaining effective, efficient and safe practice. The post holder will have access to regular supervision and will be supported to actively pursue their own continuous professional development.
The successful applicant will hold a professional qualification (such as Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist) and be registered with a professional body. The post holder will ideally have experience of being in a leadership role, engaging, supervising and supporting staff. Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorder and experience of working with individuals with neurodevelopmental needs would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who has well developed skills in working collaboratively with clinicians from different disciplines and at different stages in their careers. It is essential that candidates understand and value the principles of collective leadership and are keen to build on these in strategic development and thinking. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound skills in building relationships at all levels; with team members, the service and Trust management and external stakeholders.
