Job summary

We have an opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our Sunderland Community Treatment Team . The team provides specialist psychological assessment and intervention for older people with cognitive impairment and/or mental health difficulties.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated clinician who is passionate about working with older people.The post is suitable for a newly qualified clinician or a clinical psychologist who would like to develop their knowledge, skills and experience of working with older people with mental health difficulties and cognitive difficulties including dementia.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of an older adult psychology team. You will work with those with functional mental health difficulties and organic difficulties including dementia. You will have a job plan, access to regular supervision from a senior clinical psychologist, regular peer learning and support and CPD opportunities. There will be opportunities to be involved in service based projects and research and you will be encouraged to foster your passions an interests.

The post holder will be required to:

  • Complete complex assessments including neuropsychology assessments.
  • Develop collaborative and team formulations
  • Deliver evidence based psychological interventions.
  • Delivery of teaching and training
  • Provision of psychological advice and consultation
  • Provision of supervision
  • Contribution to service based projects and research
