IT Technical Design Manager and Cyber Specialist

Job summary

The Technical Design Manager & Cyber Specialist will provide the technical design, service configuration and performance of all Service Support functions of the department.

Develop Technical Design strategy, policy, procedures and guidance to promote and develop 'best practice' and that standards are understood and adhered to by all staff. Linking together complex work streams in the TDA programme and ensuring this meets the relevant standards and needs of the organisation in line with the ongoing digital Strategy.

To provide expert training, advice and guidance on Technical Design matters including working closely with neighbouring Trusts and agencies.

The post will involve developing and monitoring IT security systems to ensure security incidents are identified and remediated in a speedy manner as well as generating reports on the security posture of the organisation

The post holder will provide specialist knowledge of Highly complex security based systems such as Anti-Virus, Firewall and SIEM products. This will include supporting staff in general practice, community hospitals and administration locations and in some cases remote workers, with respect to all aspects of information security. This will require negotiation of security policies which could be contentious or difficult to persuade people to adopt.

Main duties of the job

Main Dutieso Responsible for Technical Design processes, ensuring that issues are accurately identified, prioritised and resolvedo Contribute to the design of secure and resilient technology architectures and systems that meet all the current and anticipated future business and IT requirements. Developing business cases and options appraisals to determine the best courses of action.o Contribute to the design of an appropriate and suitable Service Portfolio supporting all activities within the complete Service Lifecycleo Maintain up to date IT design, architectural, policy and specification documentation.o Provide advice and take action, where necessary, in response to Audit findings and recommendations in respect of technical information security.o Contribute to the design aspect of all stages of the lifecycle of IT systems, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, development, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade, transition, operation and improvements.o Assume technical responsibility for IT standards, Security, policy and design for all significant projects or major application areas, assisting with the Impact Assessment and evaluation of major new IT design options.o Participate and advise in the selection of new IT technology solutionso Provide technical advice and guidance on relevant national and international standards, regulations, protocols and tariffs.
