Job summary

Clinical Support Worker- Eden Unit 12 months fixed contract with view to permanent posts. 144 hours available

Eden Unit is a 23 bedded community hospital ward caring for patients with long term conditions requiring rehabilitation and discharge planning. We also provide palliative and end of life care for patients.

As a Band 2 clinical support worker you will assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of the registered nurses, band 3 clinical support workers and the rehabilitation team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), undertaking routine personal care activities for patients, for example, bathing, toileting, dressing, supporting with meals and refreshments, and assisting patients with their appearance. These activities may involve establishing basic patient/client information, for example, age, weight, height, fluid, nutrition input and output, which the post holder will update in the patient records. They will escalate any concerns to the appropriate registered professional.

The post holder has a personal responsibility and duty of care to patients/service users; they are expected to comply fully with all Trust policies and protocols, including those related to patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections. They must also promote dignity, privacy, and respect, to deliver compassionate, safe, and high-quality patient care.
