Job summary
INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES ONLY
Provide support in the Integrated Pathways Care Group for all clerical and administrative duties, organising and prioritising day to day workload within the heart centre.
Main duties of the job
Undertake general clerical duties including completing records, filing, photocopying, handling mail and filing in case notes in the clinical areas, rotating round medical wards as required.
Provide an accurate account of bed management e.g. admissions, transfers and discharges.
Input and extract details / information from the computerised patient administration system (PAS), ensuring all patient episodes, admissions, transfers and discharge are recorded accurately onto PAS and in a timely manner.
Keep all manual book records up to date daily e.g. ward register etc.
Complete patient discharges, filing all relevant case notes and forward them to the coding department.
Ensure in -patient referrals are updated on a regular basis on the cardiology tracker or white board.
Be competent in the use of Electronic Patient Records (EPR)
Send / deliver completed discharges to coding ensuring that all relevant reports and paperwork are filed correctly according to the Trust order of filing.
Liaise with nursing staff with regards to patient enquiries, ensuring that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Answer the telephone, relaying any relevant messages when required.
Book any appointments needed for patients and ensure the patients are informed of times and dates.
Liaise with the other departments to arrange follow-up appointments as required.
Track case notes to relevant departments.
