Band 3 Endoscopy Booking Administrator 1 x 37.5 hours and 1 x 20 hours Monday - Friday Band 3
The Endoscopy Department, Central Booking Office acts for both the Endoscopy Services at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven.
The main role of the Endoscopy Department is to provide Diagnostic and Therapeutic endoscopic procedures for Gastrointestinal, Respiratory and Urology investigations and treatments.
The unit provides a patient centred, booking service for endoscopy procedures. This encompasses both GP referrals, and consultant to consultant referrals from Out-Patient clinics and In-Patient wards within the hospitals.
Main duties of the job
To provide efficient administration support to the Endoscopy Bookings Team. To deliver effective administration of general office duties, supporting the referral process to ensure patients receive the most appropriate appointment, which should reflect the clinical needs of the patient, the earliest appointment availability to meet NHS targets and uphold organisational values.
The role is pivotal to the effective management of all Elective and Planned Surveillance, Endoscopy waiting lists.
To act as a first point of contact for the patient and service users and liaise professionally with other health care professionals, escalating as necessary
