Bank Hygiene Specialist Team (HST) - Night Shift Only

Job summary
Bank hours when available, covering night shift during sickness and annual leave.
Based at West Cumberland Hospital - Whitehaven
Shift times of 6pm-6am, 6pm-3:30am & 8:30pm-6am
Undertake a range of cleaning duties within the Hospital Premises.
Main duties of the job
- Carry out cleaning duties as per schedule
- Use of specialist cleaning machines
- Comply with infection prevention and control procedures
- Maintain standards in the areas allocated
- Liaise with HST Working Team Leader to commence and complete a specialist clean (terminal or deep as applicable) prior to Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) use
- Assist HST Team Leader in sealing a room for completion of the HPV process.
- Clean floors in mortuary, outside and inside the fridge areas.
- Responsible for the cleaning of concealment trolleys out of mortuary staff working hours
- Responsible for the completion of terminal or deep cleans following cases ofMRSA, C Diff, unexplained D&V, norovirus, flu, TB, shingles, as stated in the Trust's Cleaning Strategy Policy.
- Provide first level cleaning for body fluid spills
- Wall washing, changing curtains, cleaning windows internal and external at low levels.
- Calculate dilutions of cleaning solutions following COSHH guidance at all times
- Adhere to the Trust's Waste Policy
- Keep appropriate records as required, ensuring accurate data input
- Carry out all duties with due regard for the health and safety of self,colleagues, patients and visitors, reporting any accidents, faults or hazards
- Undertake continuing personal development, including mandatory and statutory.
- Report any equipment or services in need of replacement, repair ormaintenance
- Implement safe working processes when working off steps and/or ladders.
