INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES ONLY

This role will support two AHP services, iMSK and Nutrition & Dietetics, and need to work at different locations across NCIC. The two primary locations will be 3 days at the Sands Centre (Carlisle) for iMSK and 2 days at Cumberland Infirmary (Carlisle) for Nutrition & Dietetics.

The role of the Team Administrator is to provide the AHP teams with a high quality and consistent level of administrative and secretarial support.

To participate in the planning, development and provision of an effective and efficient administration service to the AHP teams.

To work flexibly across the NCIC AHP teams as required.

To manage and organise own workload.

To develop and maintain effective communication links with patients, carers and all associated relevant practitioners.

To complete comprehensive accurate and legally compliant documents.

To participate in audit and research activities as appropriate.

To adhere to all Trust Policies and Procedures.

To deal appropriately with enquiries from service users, staff and other organisations which require the post holder to make decisions often without recourse to others.

To prioritise complex professional demands and regularly change or alter tasks due to unplanned interruptions.

To assist Managers in achieving departmental objectives (e.g. clinical governance, audit of service).

Main duties of the job

In the NHS, AHP stands for Allied Health Professional, a diverse group of degree-qualified clinicians who work alongside doctors and nurses to provide a wide range of patient care within primary and secondary care settings. AHPs play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients across various health and care settings.

At North Cumbria Integrated Care, the following AHP services sit within Operational & Nursing:

Speech & Language Therapy

Nutrition & Dietetics

Team Administrator

The role of the AHP Administration team is to provide administrative support to the AHP teams to deliver care for both Primary and Secondary care users.

Outpatient Services

The team effectively process already triaged referrals (including self-referrals and those from other services and other health care practitioners), appoint those appropriate to the service in a timely and efficient manner for assessment by AHP staff and arrange ongoing management as required.

Inpatient Services

The team provide administrative support to inpatient teams including activity data inputting, equipment orders, and people service functions. e.g. maintaining departmental employment service records.
