12 months Maternity cover, Breast Care support Nurse, 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 nurse to join the breast care nurse specialist working at both the West Cumberland Hospital and the Cumberland Infirmary.
Main duties of the job
Lead clinical nursing care by contributing to the management of caseloads, providing expert assessment, planning and evaluation within the specialist area across both hospital sites as required. Attend MDT meetings as required. The post holder will bring to the attention of the CNS and the lead clinician any issues within the service that she feels need addressing. Give relevant information, advice and support to women regarding their treatment, therefore establishing a trusting, caring and beneficial relationship. Counsel women, who opt for re-constructive surgery as to possible complications and probable cosmetic outcome, introduce them to other women who have undergone breast re-construction .Give post operative advice to patients in respect of wound care, arm exercises, pain control and care of the wound drain for patients who opt for early discharge.
