Job summary

Gynaecology Cancer Services are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, flexible team member with excellent attention to detail to join our team with this new 12 months fixed term post.

The role will provide administration support to the Gynaecology cancer pathway team.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting FDS (faster diagnosis standard) Gynaecology patients through their pathways, with an emphasis on navigating patients through their diagnostic investigations to ensure faster diagnosis and efficient pathways.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the quality check of the Gynaecology cancer pathways, ensuring that all appointments, diagnostics and clinic letters are managed appropriately and swiftly. The individual will work closely across secondary, community and primary care as required by the patient. With an emphasis on navigating patients from referral through to their diagnostic investigations, to ensure faster diagnosis and efficient pathways. Close working with the clinical team and cancer services team.

The post holder will work both directly and indirectly with patients and their carers to assist in coordinating the care of patients through their hospital care journey, providing the patient with the relevant information and coordinate any test preparations that need to be sent or collected by the patient.

It is expected that the post holder will work autonomously, using their own initiative and within a specialised team. The post holder is expected to be highly experienced within the hospital administrative setting with knowledge and evidence of use of current hospital systems.
