  Band 6 Respiratory Nurse Specialist - part time (22.5hrs) a week
 We are offering a permanent part-time Band 6 Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic and forward thinking Community Respiratory team. We are a multidisciplinary service covering a large geographical area of East Cumbria and have close links within the Respiratory Medicine Directorate to our colleagues in the acute hospital in patients and out patient services, Virtual Ward, North Cumbia Home Oxygen Service, and our equivalent service in West Cumbria.
  Main duties of the job
  Be a member of the highly specialised multi-disciplinary Community Respiratory Team, working collaboratively with other team members across Carlisle Healthcare, Carlisle Network, Eden and Longtown and Brampton ICC's.
 Holds delegated responsibility for the Community Respiratory Team patient caseload co-ordinating admissions and discharges for patients referred to the service.
 To be an acknowledged nurse expert in the management of chronic respiratory disease, holding specialist knowledge and experience, responsible for providing specialist advice and care to respiratory patients and their carers.
 To have responsibility for part of the educational component of Pulmonary Rehabilitation, working with the PR lead Practitioners to deliver an effective and patient centred pulmonary rehabilitation programme.
 To provide leadership, mentorship and support to general practice teams developing agreed and specific respiratory clinical standards. 
 To aid the identification and case management of patients with COPD who are at risk of an admission to hospital with an exacerbation.
 To provide specialist education, as part of the organised programme delivered by the Community Respiratory Team to health professionals within the locality. 
 To maintain knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes necessary to deliver an evidenced based service that is responsive to the changing needs of the locality population and the service.
