Band 2 Housekeeper up to 30 hours per week, permanent
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper who wants to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. Previous experience as a housekeeper is not essential as in-house training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to meet the demands of this role.
The Emergency Assessment Unit/Ward 6 is a 26 bedded assessment unit and short stay ward based at the West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven. We are a fast paced environment, caring for acutely unwell patients.
Main duties of the job
o Monitor and replenish Ward stock including preparing stock and non-stock requisitions for approval.
o Monitor and maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene standards of ward including; treatment room/stock room/store rooms/staff rooms/offices/ kitchen (including fridge and microwave), ensuring all equipment/utensils and surfaces are clean at all times, eg discarding out of date food, stock rotation.
o Monitor the safe disposal of waste.
o Support the Ward Manager in helping to ensure the ward environment is safe and tidy including the removal of any hazards/clutter.
o Report equipment faults and monitor repairs.
o Report any accidents or incidents as per Trust policy.
o Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages at the scheduled times.
o Update patient food diaries.
oServe patients meals, adhering to food hygiene regulations.
o Be aware of increased nutritional needs. Ensure these needs are met by assisting patients to eat and drink, eg cutting up food, placing food within easy
o Liaise with patients and carers to ensure they have sufficient supply of clothing and toiletries.
