Job summary
To provide expert advice and support on a daily basis to a wide-ranging workforce on all aspects of safeguarding work, including highly complex, difficult, sensitive and emotive situations.
To work closely with other Named and Designated Professionals across the network, supporting all activities necessary to ensure that NCIC meets its responsibilities in safeguarding.
To contribute to the strategic development organisation of safeguarding services.
To ensure that robust systems are in place to ensure effective, timely information sharing between staff within and outside of NCIC.
The Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children will focus on the implementation and management of safeguarding systems and activity relating to:
- Child Sexual Exploitation and contextual safeguarding
- Responses to child deaths
- Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and the work of the Partnerships
- Acting as an expert support to the Safeguarding Hub and the safeguarding administrators
Main duties of the job
General

- Act as the safeguarding lead for children across the organisation
- Promote best practice and emerging practice in Safeguarding Children work
- Support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children, young people and unborn babies at risk, with the ability to challenge poor practice
- Be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of NCIC, linking to the Designated Nurse within the ICB's to ensure a link into the wider health economy
