Clinical Support Worker(Eden Scheduled Care)

Job summary

The Day Units are Nurse led, highly skilled clinical sites, aimed to prevent patient admission to hospital and to facilitate discharge from hospital

To work under the direction of qualified staff to deliver care to patients attending for a variety of treatments within the Unit. To provide advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues and maintain associated records both written and electronic.

The essential criteria for this role includes the requirement to have a care certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake this. For further information please see the attached Care Certificate document attached.

Main duties of the job

  • to support qualified staff with prioritising referrals and managing the caseload
  • to support in the delivery of scheduled care according to work rota
  • to assess, deliver and evaluate delegated nursing treatments under the direction of qualified staff
  • to actively participate in training , competency achievement and delivery of new nursing interventions to further develop the unit.
  • to achieve competency in extended roles to include, venepuncture, catheterisation (male/female and suprapubic), cannulation and venesection.
  • to perform NEWS2 observations for all patients escalating to qualified staff as per NCIC Trust Policy.
  • to support patients with all activities of daily living to promote independence as much as possible
  • to support with stock orders, storage of equipment, maintenance of medical devices and safe storage of all supplies
