Band 6 Senior Scrub Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Scrub Practitioner with a specialist interest in orthopaedics to join our clinical team within our recently built operating theatre complex at the West Cumberland Hospital.
We currently have 7 predominantly elective theatres , covering a variety of specialties: Orthopaedics, Vascular, Colorectal, Upper GI, Urology, ENT, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics (elective and emergency), supported by a central recovery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is predominantly concerned with ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient centred care ensuring the cost-effective use of resources. It combines clinical expertise, leadership and education, with managerial and professional responsibilities.
The post holder will have accountability for the day to day management of the registered practitioners, support workers and students in their team. The post holder will practice at a senior level demonstrating autonomy and sound clinical decision-making. They will work as a specialised member of the inter-professional team to ensure that the needs of the patient are met at all times and that staffing is at an appropriate level to meet patient and service needs.
