INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES
We are extending education capacity to embed quality end of life care standards consistently across NCIC fixed term funding for one year has been secured
The clinical practice educator will be based in the West of Cumbria within the NCIC Bereavement Service.
They will support the current educator facilitate build on the implementation plan of end of life and bereavement care education, training and professional development for clinical, non-clinical staff and volunteers across all NCIC sites. This will be supported under the direction of the End of Life Steering Group and its sub-groups. It is an exciting opportunity to support staff influence quality end of life care for patients and families every time.
The overarching focus of the education plan will be the five priorities of care for the dying person, with other areas being covered in response to service need, evidence base provided by feedback, The Q Care programme, NACEL audit and the End of Life Steering Group.
The post holder will link with external partners and support the education development across the North Cumbria system to ensure consistency of standards, peer support and a coordinated responsive to the regional priorities for end of life care.
Main duties of the job
Work alongside the current lead embed a coordinated plan of end of life and bereavement care education, training and professional development across all NCIC sites, under the direction of the end of life steering group and its sub-groups
Design and deliver formal and informal teaching and training across the Trust, in both classroom and clinical settings and using a variety of resources and teaching methods
Role model through maintaining own clinical expertise, competence and credibility in working alongside staff in their clinical area.
Demonstrate leadership in engaging clinical teams in areas for improvement through encouragement, respectful challenge and empowerment to lead change in their areas.
