Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Person Specification

Other Requirements

Essential

• Ability to travel and work between all sites.
• Flexibility in shift/working patterns to meet the needs of the service
• Adheres to Safety and Quality as per Trust policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Essential

• NMC Registered Nurse / Allied Health Professional equivalent
• Evidence of ongoing professional development within speciality
• Certified speciality courses within Cardiology care
• Leadership training
• ALS provider
• Masters level qualification / in progress or equivalent preferably in acute care Cardiology / autonomous practice

Desirable

• Recognised teaching qualification
• Independent prescribing

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Significant experience within an acute setting including Cardiology services
• Experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area.
• Participated in service development and implementation of change.
• Participation in staff management
• Knowledge of professional and NHS standards and protocols
• Autonomous practice and multidisciplinary working

Desirable

• Demonstrate experience in Cardiology assessment, diagnosis and management.
• Knowledge of financial/budget management within the clinical setting.
• Knowledge of Cardiac standards and protocols

Skills and Aptitudes

Essential

• Leadership skills
• High level communication skills able to communicate sensitive and complex information
• IT skills
• The ability to interpret heart rhythms accurately
• To interpret abnormal findings on a 12 lead ECG
• Able to manage own workload, work independently, plan, organise and prioritise whilst coordinating the work of others with minimal supervision.

Desirable

• Expert patient centred clinical care and assessment skills
• Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.
