Job summary
The main purpose of the post is to provide a key role in this system in supporting doctors new to the appraisal process as outlined in the Priming Appraisal SOP. The post holder will also be involved and lead on new projects from within the medical appraisal team.
Main duties of the job
- Understanding the medical appraisal system and how priming appraisals contribute to supporting doctors new to appraisal
- Be able to educate doctors on what is expected for medical appraisal
- Be able to manage workload and deadlines
- Be able to support and appropriately challenge doctors regarding appraisal preparation and completion
- To understand limits of the priming appraiser role and where signposting to other services is more appropriate
- To recognise and escalate any concerns as per appraisal policy
- Lead on projects and development processes
The ability to work flexibly to ensure that the appraisal team is effective and efficient, this role and other roles in the department will be allocated portfolio work streams to meet the evolving needs of the department.
