Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy or relevant professional field
• Post graduate specialist level 7 training/experience First Contact MSK Physiotherapy
• Valid registration with professional regulatory body (e.g. HCPC)
• To undertake an accredited MSc ACP course and successfully complete this within a 5-year timeframe
• Evidence of on-going continue professional development in a specialist field
• Relevant validated clinical courses at specialist/advanced level
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or working toward / willingness to complete qualification

Desirable

• ACP educator qualification or teaching qualification
• Radiological Interpretation Course (or working towards)
• MSc Module in Injection Therapy or Diploma in Injection Therapy (or working towards)
• Leadership/mentorship qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Specialist knowledge of multiple disciplines (rehabilitation, surgery, pain management, social prescribing, physical health psychology, rheumatology, orthotics, podiatry, talking therapies, neurology, health and wellbeing team)
• Knowledge of governance and patient safety standards
• Awareness of current initiatives within the local and national health service
• Awareness of, and able to demonstrate capabilities aligned to the Multi-professional framework for advanced practice 2025 and the centre for advancing practice framework 2024
• Advanced knowledge of referral criteria to other specialists
• Expert knowledge of professional practice, and ability to be innovative and proactive to enhance the service
• Advanced knowledge of high risk/complex patient care
• Knowledge of strategic issues which influence area of practice at a local and national level
• Knowledge of audit and research processes

Desirable

• Previous experience of working in an advanced practice role
• Previous experience of working within a multiprofessional MSK team
• Experience of involvement in formal research
• Knowledge of leadership styles and skills
• Knowledge of National strategies and agendas e.g AHP strategy and Long Trem Plan
