Breast Imaging Manager

Job summary

Due to the planned retirement of our existing Breast Imaging Manager in July 2025, we are looking to recruit a new service leader.

The North Cumbria Breast Imaging Service provide a full screening and symptomatic service to the population of North Cumbria. The unit liaises with Consultant Breast Surgeons, Pathologists and Surgical Outpatients to provide a comprehensive one stop breast service.

We are looking for a dynamic practitioner, with a passion for or interest in promoting the importance of screening, to lead our cross site service. A qualified Radiographer, you will have experience of developing a service to meet the changing needs of a defined population. A background in mammography is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the provision of high quality delivery of the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and to act as lead for the symptomatic diagnostic breast imaging service within the designated area of responsibility, in addition to liaising with the breast radiologist and surgical colleagues.

The post holder will work within the standards of conduct, performance and ethics as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council.
