Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Skills

Essential

• Keyboard skills
• Able to work in a team
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment
• Good hand to eye coordination
• Meticulous

Desirable

• Customer service skill especially good Telephone skills

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Mortuary work, mortuary health and safety, including safe handling of bodies
• UKAS (UK) standards for accreditation
• The law concerning deaths, their certification and the role of the Coroner.
• Requirements of the Human Tissue Act 2004.
• Infection Control in the mortuary

Desirable

• Laboratory work.
• NHS employment.

Other Requirements

Essential

• Flexibility in working hours, especially weekends and evenings and able to participate in the on call rota
• Provide cross site cover if required

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
