Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• oRegistered Nurse with a current NMC registration
• oFurther postgraduate qualification relevant to speciality.

Desirable

• oClinical assessment and history taking qualification.
• oLeadership Qualification.
• oTriage Qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• oSignificant post-registration experience, including substantial experience in urgent care, emergency care, or acute nursing.
• oEvidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in relevant clinical areas.
• oUnderstanding of national and local guidelines for triage and referral management.
• oPrevious experience in a triage or referral coordination role
• oProfessional knowledge acquired through advanced learning
• oEvidence of management skills gained through experience
• oHigh degree of IT literacy.
• oExperience of mentoring and developing staff.
• oClinical experience as a Band 6 / Senior Staff Nurse level or above.
• oData collection and audit experience.
• oKnowledge of clinical governance, risk management, local and national policies and patient safety principles.
• oAbility to problem solve, analyse, compare and interpret complex information before making a decision
• oDemonstrated ability to implement service improvements and manage change.

Desirable

• Experience in policy development or clinical guideline implementation.
• oExperience of working as a single point of contact practitioner within an acute setting.
