Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure

Qualifications

Essential

• oRegistered General Nurse/ Registered Nurse(Adult)
• oPost graduate Urology / Oncology course
• oNursing Diploma / Specialist Degree in Urology / Cancer Care.
• oUrology Practitioner
• oTeaching qualification

Desirable

• oCounselling certificate or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

• oExperience in a urology / oncology environment at senior level.
• oExperience of research / audit and a willingness to participate as necessary in order to enable the trust to meet its statutory requirements
• oExperience of nurse led diagnostics

Desirable

• oDeveloping protocols and policy documents.
• oOncological nursing.
• oWorking as a core or extended member of an oncology MDT.

Knowledge

Essential

• oProfessional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma supplemented by significant post-registration experience and specialist knowledge of the clinical area applied for
• oEvidence of management skills gained through theory and / or practice
• oKnowledge of the NHS constitutional standards for cancer and routine pathways
• oKnowledge and experience to work as an autonomous clinical practitioner, with self-management of own caseload of patients.
