Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as followsif applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Qualifications

Essential

• Maths and English GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent/ Grade 4-9
• Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree or willingness to study and achieve the Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree

Desirable

• Care Certificate

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working in health and social care setting

Desirable

• Experience of working in a community setting.
• Previous experience of working in a multi disciplinary team
• Experience of working within a therapy team environment

Knowledge

Essential

• Understanding of the basic philosophy of rehabilitation.
• Evidence of ongoing training and mandatory courses.
• Understanding of reflective practice and its application.
• Appreciation of the roles of other agencies both voluntary and statutory.
• Self awareness and appreciation of limitations.
• Knowledge and understanding of moving and handling policies and procedures.

• Understanding and knowledge of relevant National Service Frameworks and guidelines.

Skills and Aptitude

Essential

• Able to undertake work delegated by registered clinician.
• To be able to seek support from registered clinicians as required.
• Patient handling Skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to use own initiative.
• Ability to work as a member of a ? ECDL or equivalent multi disciplinary team.
• Basic IT skills.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

• Able to travel independently of public transport. Must have full UK driving licence and have access to independent transportation
• Be adaptable to a growing and changing service.
• Ability to work a shift pattern. Monday to Sunday 8:00-20:00.
