Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist, Dermatology, Band 7- 52.5 hours available
An exciting opportunity to join our growing Skin Cancer Team. This position will require cross site cover across both Hospitals (Hilltop Heights, Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven). Base to be negotiated.
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of specific dermatology care.
- Provide the prescribed nursing care without supervision.
- The dermatology unit looks after patients with newly diagnosed skin cancers as well as providing ongoing care to those already diagnosed. All these patients will have open access to the service offered by the Clinical Nurse Specialist. The unit and the MDT works closely with plastic surgeons from our tertiary centre and with primary care.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice in the unit.
