Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Qualifications

Essential

• Physiotherapy degree or equivalent.
• State registration with the HCPC.
• Post-graduate specialist diploma or equivalent post graduate study in respiratory conditions
• Supervision of students / learners

Desirable

• MSc level study in Respiratory or equivalent.
• Leadership / management qualification, CBT module

Experience

Essential

• Significant recent experience working with patients with respiratory conditions
• Experience of enhanced prioritisation and delegation skills in a ward based environment
• Supervision and education of staff/students.
• Use of research skills for developing service or improving practice.
• Deputising for team leader.
• Working with patients delivering exercise and/or education
• Involvement in service development / audit / managing change
• Appraisal and mentoring of staff / students
• Managing other staff including caseload management.
