Job summary

The Workforce Services Manager (ESR) is a senior role within the People Services Directorate in the Transactional Services division.

It provides operational leadership to the electronic staff record system (ESR) and data development teams.

This dynamic role is integral to ensuring the external payroll, pension and system providers meets their contractual terms and conditions; developing strategic workstreams to improve efficiency, quality and analysis of workforce data utilising ESR and associated current/future systems.

Closing date of advert: 9th January 2025 midday.

The interview process will require successful candidates to provide a presentation (10 minutes) on the following topic:

The replacement ESR system "the new digital people solution", is anticipated to be one of the biggest and most significant transformation projects in our field. Please describe in detail how you will approach leading this transformation programme in NCIC; what will be the key challenges and how will you ensure key stakeholders are, and remain, engaged at a Trust level? In addition, what will success look like?

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and manage the ESR Systems and Forms Team
  • Lead and manage the People Services Development team
  • Lead the tactical direction of the Transactional Services Team and manage the Trusts approach to e-Roster, ESR Payroll and Transactional services 'owned' data
  • Develop and agree KPIs for Transactional services and manage performance of teams against these
  • Manage subject matter experts in respect of delivery of advice on Transactional services
  • Lead on external supplier contracts and relationships
  • Provide project oversight on a wide range of initiatives
  • Ensure legislative requirements are adhered to in relation to data, contracts , GDPR, UKVI
  • Provide a clear focus on delivery and customer experience
  • Identify and manage risk
  • Delivery a complex portfolio within budget and on time
  • Work closely with Collaborative and Directorate Leads
