Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

• Relevant Financial Accounting experience
• Undertaking Financial analysis
• Providing written and numeric reports
• Working effectively in a team and on own initiative.
• Providing information to external sources.
• Working with finance computer systems, ledgers and coding structures

Desirable

• Experiences of NHS Finance

Qualifications

Essential

• Good general education including Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent.
• AAT Technician level or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience of successfully performing a substantially similar role.

Desirable

• Actively studying towards CCAB/CIMA qualification.

knowledge

Essential

• Developed knowledge of financial accounting in a healthcare/commercial environment
• Computerised ledger systems. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Detailed knowledge of accounting concepts, e.g. accruals, prepayments, debtors and creditors.
• Knowledge of accounting statements, eg SOCI, SOFP, SOCF, SOCIE.
• Understanding of internal financial control systems.
• Knowledge of technical accounting issues, e.g. VAT.

• NHS financial regime.
