Job summary

Band 7 Interventional Lead Radiographer - up to 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology Department at North Cumbria Integrated Care as an Interventional Lead Radiographer. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the leadership team managing the day to day running of the Interventional radiography services and staff as well as developing knowledge and skills in areas of advanced practice to meet the service needs of the department.

The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary with a requirement to travel to West Cumberland hospital assist with training of staff and developing the service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to act as a Lead Radiographer with specialist skills responsible for a discrete subsection within radiology as agreed to meet service needs and ensure the delivery of a high quality service.

Experience in general radiology, fluoroscopy and angiography examinations is essential. The successful candidate must have the knowledge and ability to update/ change protocols and equipment parameters when required as well as reviewing waiting times and implementing service changes.

The post holder will be expected to participate in advanced practice to assist in developing the interventional service whilst supporting others to train and develop skills and techniques in Interventional areas.

You will be supported by the Trust Lead Radiographer to continually develop clinical knowledge and leadership skills and work alongside other modality leads sharing department leadership where required.
