The IT team is looking for a Technical design manager and Cyber Specialist.

The department plays a key role protecting the Trust's critical infrastructure and setting design principles for the future digital strategy.

Cyber Security is an evolving area and this presents interesting and diverse challenges that make this an exciting career.

In the role you can expect a varied and interesting workload which can include:

  • Developing and documenting technical designs
  • Dealing with Security incidents and post action reviews
  • Developing standards, policies and procedures
  • Find and remediate security vulnerabilities

Work areas include dealing with many technical areas as well as other aspects of Design and Cyber such as system usability, social engineering and system lifecycles.

You will need great technical and communication skills and be able to deal with tight timescales and react quickly to fast changing situations such as Cyber threats

Main duties of the job

The Technical Design Manager & Cyber Specialist will provide the technical design, service configuration and performance of all Service Support functions of the department.

Develop Technical Design strategy, policy, procedures and guidance to promote and develop 'best practice' and that standards are understood and adhered to by all staff. Linking together complex work streams in the TDA programme and ensuring this meets the relevant standards and needs of the organisation in line with the ongoing digital Strategy.

To provide expert training, advice and guidance on Technical Design matters including working closely with neighbouring Trusts and agencies. T

The post will involve developing and monitoring IT security systems to ensure security incidents are identified and remediated in a speedy manner as well as generating reports on the security posture of the organisation

The post holder will provide specialist knowledge of Highly complex security based systems such as Anti-Virus, Firewall and SIEM products. This will include supporting staff in general practice, community hospitals and administration locations and in some cases remote workers, with respect to all aspects of information security. This will require negotiation of security policies which could be contentious or difficult to persuade people to adopt.
