Job summary
At North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) things are changing.
As an improving integrated care trust we are now investing in new medical leadership posts as part of our overall strategy to become a genuinely clinically-led organisation. These are part of a wider structural change that gives clinicians greater responsibility for the services they deliver.
We are now looking to recruit a Mental Health and Learning Disability Strategic Lead.
To be successful you will have the skills, energy and enthusiasm to drive the change and innovation to help us deliver the best possible care. You will add a strong clinical voice to our leadership team and contribute to a culture which values professional excellence and enables our clinicians to be the best they can be.
It is an exciting time to join us as we work with the University of Cumbria and Imperial College London to launch the Cumbria Medical School in 2025. Our vision is to be a leading organisation for medical leadership, education and training.
Main duties of the job
The Mental Health and Learning Disability Strategic Lead will display the Trust values at all times, work as part of a Leadership Team and represent North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust locally, regionally and nationally.
This is a new post, which has been created to bring dedicated senior medical leadership to drive forward a Trust Mental Health and Learning Disability Strategy at NCIC and to enable patient-centred discussion in relation to Mental Health and Learning Disability.
About us
The Trust currently has a £40m development programme for our West Cumberland Hospital site, and plans for a new £20m Community Diagnostic Centre proposed to open in 2024.
Due to our geography we deliver a broad range of clinical services which are not typically found in other district general hospitals.
We are fortunate to be located in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, with the Lake District on our doorstep.
