Capital Accountant Band 7, 37.5 hours per week - Parkhouse - 12 Month Temporary Contract

This is an exciting time as we address how we safely and effectively use our resources. This role is pivotal in the Strategic Finance section of the Finance Department, supporting the Collaboratives in the Trust and the successful applicant will bring their own interpersonal and technical skills into a strong team. The Post holder will provide a full range of financial accounting and financial management services for capital investments, helping to ensure medical equipment, facilities and digital infrastructure are fit for purpose to support operations and patient care. The successful candidate will play a key role as part of the finance team and will be fully supported in the role and in developing their career.

Main duties of the job
The Post holder will be required to directly support the Strategic Finance section of the Finance department, and provide general support to the whole Finance Department and non-finance staff throughout the Trust.
The Postholder will provide a full range of financial accounting and financial management services for Capital. This will include:
- providing specialist support to the corporate reporting and decision-making process in respect of capital investment, leases, capital charges and asset management;
- planning and forecasting the use of capital to facilitate a rolling replacement programme in place for medical equipment;
- production of the year-end Capital Accounts;
- production of monthly management information and monitoring of Capital Control accounts.
The Capital Accountant is a key part of the wider finance department and is integral in helping the finance department deliver on its role in safeguarding the financial assets of the Trusts, discharging liabilities as they fall due, reporting to and advising management on financial issues, supporting the Trust in achieving its business objectives and promoting good financial practice and performance.
