INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) TRUST EMPLOYEES ONLY

This post will support the R&D Manager at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). The post holder will help to promote and facilitate the delivery of high quality R&D activity across the Trust, the maintenance of Research Governance standards, compliance with other statutory obligations and the delivery of the Trust's R&D reporting requirements to the NE&NC CRN and Department of Health.

The post holder will ensure that a robust quality management is in place including systems to monitor performance standards, audit processes, and ensure that training and supervision processes are in place and that we have adequate induction systems for new staff.

The post holder will deputise for the R&D manager as required. Patient contact in this role is incidental.

Main duties of the job

  • To oversee activity and proactively drive recruitment to time and target for research projects within North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
  • To provide effective local oversight of study delivery, identifying slow or poorly recruiting studies, and proactively work with local research support infrastructure to ensure provision of necessary resources.
  • Compile high level reports containing research data to meet internal (e.g. board and sub-board level committees) and external (e.g. CRN and DoH) reporting requirements. Regular requirement to develop and create statistical reports using computer software/formulae.Manage the communication and raise the profile of R&D issues across the Trust via the R&D website, newsletter and various forums.
