Registered Nurse The Heart Centre, Band 5. 26.25 hours per week

The Heart Centre at the CIC is looking for and enthusiastic and motivated band 5 Nurse to join our dedicated team. We currently are a 9 bedded unit with a radial lounge caring for cardiology in- patients and elective day patients undergoing a range of procedures including percutaneous coronary intervention, injectable loop recorder insertion and PPM and an on call service out of hours for primary PCI. We are in the process of expanding and looking for nurses who are caring, work well within our small team and have vision and motivation to help move the service we provide forward.

Main duties of the job

Provision of quality care to cardiac patients who require coronary care, general cardiology and step down care and patients requiring invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, treatments and rehabilitation.

Provide all aspects of patient care, care planning and delivery to patientsrequiring coronary care, step down care and patients undergoing invasiveand non-invasive cardiac procedures.Participate in the out of hours on call rota for PPCI.Rotate onto all areas of cardiology floor- CCU, WillowC, The Heart Centrecath lab and recovery ward.Practice the expanded skills of venepuncture, cannulation, intravenous drugadministration and defibrillation as required.

Act in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct at all times.Support other nurses in the unit team as necessary.Demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing practice andresearch.Comply with infection prevention and control procedures at all times.Comply with responsibility to safeguard children and vulnerable adults,ensuring attendance at appropriate training.
