Job summary
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) is seeking to recruit a Musculoskeletal (MSK) First Contact Physiotherapy Advanced Practitioner (FCP AP) to lead, expand and further develop our First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) service in Primary Care. This post provides the opportunity to join our FCP workforce as an MSK FCP AP, and to provide clinical, managerial and operational leadership for our FCP service in the Carlisle Primary Care Network (PCN). If successful, you will undertake the lead role in establishing, developing and implementing the NCIC FCP service in the Primary Care setting. This is an exciting opportunity to improve clinical quality and effectiveness, and operational efficiency to further enhance MSK pathways of care, advancing healthcare delivery for the population of North Cumbria, and specifically within Carlisle PCN, for those who suffer with MSK related conditions and disorders. The expansion of the FCP service in North Cumbria aligns with NHS England's national priority of increasing the Primary Care workforce.
Main duties of the job
As the PCN lead MSK FCP AP, you will provide leadership and clinical expertise to the PCN FCP team. You will deliver and ensure the provision of a high quality MSK FCP service. You will be required to work closely with the GP's and other members of the primary care multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal MSK related care to the local population. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills as you establish and enhance relationships within primary care and also with other key stakeholders in community and secondary care MSK related services. NCIC is committed to delivering high quality, evidence based clinical care and you will be responsible for ensuring that this is the case in our FCP service. There is an expectation that you will be able to evidence previous experience of working at an advanced clinical practice level or that you are working towards this either through an accredited ACP MSc or via a portfolio route aligned to the HEE MSK FCP/ ACP roadmap.
