Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Qualifications

Essential

• Completion of an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
• To have ongoing evidence of continued professional development within the specialist field
• Completion of stage 1) Knowledge, Skills and Attributes (KSA) for FCP's and AP's in Primary Care 'A Roadmap to Practice'

Desirable

• Radiological Interpretation Course (or working towards)
• IRMER / MRI Safety trained
• MSc Module in Injection Therapy or Diploma in Injection Therapy
• May hold or be working towards a prescribing qualification
• FCP MSc module
• To have completed or be working towards Masters level qualification in specialist field or advanced clinical practice
• Formal leadership training

Experience

Essential

• Extensive post registration experience working at a senior level within speciality area
• High level of communication skills
• Experience in managing change
• Experience in providing counselling to patients and to support staff

Desirable

• Experience of involvement in formal research
• Leadership/ managerial experience
• Experience of service level implementation

Knowledge

Essential

• Awareness of current initiatives within the Local and National health economy
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development relevant to this post including HEE e-LfH Primary Care modules and Person centred care modules
• Knowledge of referral criteria to other specialisms
• Relevant validated clinical courses applicable to physiotherapy at an advanced practice level
• In depth knowledge of speciality area of practice
• Knowledge of strategic issues which influence area of practice at a local and national level
• Knowledge of national progress within speciality area
• Knowledge of audit and research processes
